My email is jammed with people expressing support, so I've started a list with regular bulletins and will probably migrate it to a blog or website sometime next week.
As soon as the union manages to get the figures from the university, we've lined up a team to go through them with a fine-toothed comb, then devise an alternative plan.
There's a public meeting on Monday, too. We're going to get some of our tutors to set up a Facebook site, twitter, and the online petition should be enabled by Monday. Our students are already asking what they can do to help, and have been wonderful.

Let's see... email list, blog, facebook, twitter, online petition... You could create a YouTube video with some great teaching moments and short interviews with some of the people whose jobs are at risk, and the students who will be cut off. If any of your students have enough talent in that direction to make a really funny video, it could take off and get a lot of attention for your cause. I'm not sure MeetUp would be relevant for you, though it might help to try using it to organize rallies around your area. Your blog will have an RSS feed, I presume...
We could make tshirts, buttons/badges, bumper stickers, etc. through the Ministry shop at cost if that would help get the word out.... "Oh! The Humanities!"

that's brilliant.

and actually badges and stickers and t-shirts could be just the thing for rallies and such ; i think that's a very good idea. let me know if you want any help designing them.
