Devices like Kindle or Kobo are considered closed ecosystems devices since. they do not provide an App Store. However, Kobo is the only exception since as you said it supports KOReader. We plan to build integration that allows syncing eBooks, highlights and reading position but this can come in many forms including a plugin for KOReader for example.
The full feature set of BookFusion might not be on these devices but syncing eBooks, highlights and reading position would be supported at a minimum. So not yet for Kobo but will have an update in the future.
