Last night I started what will be my first 2024 read, A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik, the first book in the Scholomance trilogy.

I had skipped over it without much notice until a week or so ago when I saw a positive review of the book from someone I follow and respect on GR. The reviewer compared the main character to Murderbot, and that sold me. I instantly put a hold in at my library, and it came in two days ago.
