I've just ordered myself a Chromebook. Although my sister and I love a lot of the same things when it comes to watching movies and tv series, we also have very different tastes. She loves historical dramas and more romantic movies/series and I love horror, thrillers and spooky shows.
I have been watching my things either when my sister is at work or at night in my bedroom on my tablet in bed. But I love to to cross stitch whilst watching something (I need to keep my hands busy) and I need my tablet for that since I've got all my patterns on there. I could get my tv out of storage and hang it in my bedroom. But it's big and it won't look good when people are coming to view the apartment.
I could use my laptop, but it's a heavy gaming laptop which is connected to my external hard drive. Through this set up I run my Plex server and I'd rather not unhook the external drive, which would prevent my from using the Plex server (when we have moved to the new home I'm going to set up a NAS for the Plex server).
For a while I've been thinking of getting a cheap Chromebook to use for streaming when I'm cross stitching at night or when I'm crafting at the dining room table. A 14 inch one would be big enough and light enough for me to move about and not be too big and get in the way of things.
So I've compared various ones and I've ordered an HP Chromebook. The store ordered from has the after Christmas sale, so that saves €50, but instead I ordered the good-as-new one, which saves me €100. It'll arrive tomorrow, I'm looking forward to setting it up and finding out what I can use it for besides streaming.
