Watched Scrooge (Christmas Carol) 1951 version, Alastair Sim Sunday afternoon. I started watching it in the 50s as a kid. Still my favorite Christmas movie. I'd planned to watch a number of holiday movies but haven't because of all the new things that are streaming and all the youtube livestreams and vlogs that I watch.

Watched Maestro on Netflix Sunday evening. Had a friend over who doesn't have internet. It was better than I expected and I might watch again some time. I'd heard a lot of criticism from people I know online who didn't like that it was more about his personal life than his music. But I thought the music was woven in so well (Bernstein's, Mahler and other music) to the story.

On YouTube there is a video of Bernstein rehearsing West Side Story for a recording with studio musicians and opera singers. My flute teacher was in it along with Julius Baker among the musicians. It was done in Bernstein's later years.
