DRM and Spain :-(
Interestingly I asked the classes who had mp3 players and 45 of 50 of them said yes.
When I asked who had purchased a song from the internet only 2 people put there hands up!
We had a very interesting discussion around paying for music and books!
Ereaders are not very common in Spain yet and I whilst my daughter's school is an English one the majority of the children are from Spanish families and there is not so much content available (or easy to find). Locally only carrefour is selling and I gues Fnac in Seville (85 miles away) may be selling also. They saw that for access to public domain books it made sense even if they are still "expensive" devices. I asked them about favuorite classic reads and pretty all of the authors they mentioned are on MobileRead.
Another interesting thing was the lack of interest in reading. Of the 50 students only 4 read more than 1 book a month outside of school required reading. I found that really low, but I was warned!
So it was good fun and worth the effort for their "book week"!
