We usually want to help, but...

Here is a funny recent one. My mom is 90. We started playing Scrabble. She kept asking "do I get the bonus", and I would keep repeating "if you put down the tile you get the bonus". I told her, mom remember the rule, and she said she couldn't. So I print out the rule, and when she asks, I hand her the paper. After the third time of handing her the paper, she remembered the rule.

I don't think it was the fact that I printed it out, it was that it was more effort to read the rule then to remember the rule.
