If I read a couple of hours on the Sage with the light set at 8% or so and the wi-fi off I'll still have around 90% of the battery left.

That's "good enough" for me as I typically read at home and can easily plug the charger in when I'm done reading.

Unless you are away from a charger for an extended period of time or read with the wi-fi on and bright light you'll probably be OK.

Is the lower weight a fair trade for the reduced battery life? I think that the Sage is a damn good reader but if I could trade the weight saved for better battery life I'd do it in a minute just for the added security in case power ever goes out for a couple of days.
