@arooni,

For your case, it is easier to do JB first on 5.16.1 - because you won't have to accept mandatory firmware upgrade and then downgrade and all those hoops and loops.

Then install hotfix from NiLuJe.
Do not enable renameOTAbin yet (otherwise you won't be able to upgrade).
Turn on Airplane mode.
Upgrade to 5.16.2.0.1 normally.
Then restart Kindle Scribe TWICE.
Then reinstall hotfix from NiLuJe.
Enable renameOTAbin.
