As Hitch has informed us several times, if you contract shingles once that doesn't mean you won't get it again.
The prevalence of shingles is increasing in developed countries, if you're elderly get vaccinated with Shringrix (it's a 2 dose regime).
I've had my first, my GP's nurse will call me when I'm due for the second. She called me after a few days after the first dose to ask what side effects I had experienced… she seemed disappointed when I said none.
Maybe we need an 'Afflictions & Ailments" thread.
