For what it is worth, I've run into Adobe's enhanced DRM on 2 occasions. One time was when an acquaintance asking for help for their offspring when attempting to remove DRM from three university level textbooks which was declined after a quick look at the issue when I found out the textbooks were not purchased by them. The last time was an ePub downloaded from a site whose name I've forgotten which would open in ADE but not in calibre. Some point after moving to noDRM's fork, I tried the book again and the DRM was removed.
