Trimming the tree is always somewhat melancholy. Some of the ornaments go back to when I was small and no matter how tarnished, on the tree they go. And the first thing I put on it every year is an angel my oldest nephew made when he was little; he died of cancer twelve years ago.
My cats are far too rambunctious for me to put up a tree, but I have ornaments that belonged to my great grandparents in storage. I have some stuff from the teens and twenties I'll never let go.

I just gave little Sei cat her last dost of post-op meds (we have been medicating her every four hours since Wednesday, so I am deliriously tired at this point. I hope to do the Christmas decorating on Monday since its an office day for my wife.
