We watched Backwoods Crime (Austria) on Prime - hit & miss anthology but refreshingly different.if nothing else.
Homicide Hills (German) on Prime was also OK.
Just finished S1-2 of Whitstable Pearl, more soap opera than mystery but likeable characters.

I really liked
Whitstable year/season 1--and I agree that it's more romance soap than mystery, which isn't really my cuppa, but...hey. I liked the setting and the premise was okay, especially in what is really a very small town in the off-season. Makes sense in that context.
BUT, I felt that S2 was a total loss, really; all about broken hearts, unfulfilled longings, him acting a prat about her being the "detective" after all these years, yadda. I'm
reasonably sure that I slept through a good 50-70% of it (S2). I just...yup, thought it sucked.
I've also pretty much given up on One Lane Bridge (KIWI). Season One was fairly good, (lovely scenery, too!) although flawed in plot and characterization.
Season Two...
harder to stick with, more oddball plot flaws and all that. Now S3 seems to be to be
just unwatchable. I'm going to try one more episode but...it's incongruent, it doesn't make sense...and I'm still searching for one lousy character to really LIKE. The original lead, whom I did like in S1, has, IMHO, just turned into a jerk. Anybody else feel that way?
And of course, we just
HADDA HAVE the ubiquitous "new woman boss," who is both a minority and a woman. sigh. Never ends.
Anybody watched the new Shetland (S8) yet, which I'm given to understand has a new main character DCI or whatever? Is it a
woman? Lemme guess...yes, right?
