I've just ordered an ereader from the Kobo store, and I'm wondering what to expect. I ordered a week ago, and received an "order received" email the day of the order containing a promise of another email when the order ships. And then I've heard nothing since in the seven days (yeah, only 4 business days) since.

I imagine (didn't check) that I could have bought it on Amazon, but I usually try to avoid giving Amazon any money, so I like the idea of buying direct. But now I'm wondering if that was a mistake.

How is the Kobo store at order fulfillment? Should I assume that they haven't gotten around to shipping my order after a week, or should I think that they shipped it but neglected to send an email saying so?
