The clock & battery is only a tap away. Obviously some people like a clock on the page, but I don't know anyone here that wants it. At least 14 in the wider family have ereaders. Mix of Kobo, Kindle and one Sony T2.
Qi charging is pointless if you need to read while charging. It wastes energy, creates some interference and the charger still needs a cable and PSU (wall wart). It takes up more space when travelling. It's a marketing gimmick.
