Since nobody with knowledge about these things has answered, I'll risk asking what some may consider a stupid question.

I don't know anything about the plugin, and I don't know what you can do to salvage the books you've already downloaded, if anything. But if it's just a matter of getting the books in a form you can read, isn't it possible to log in to your Kobo account, go to My Books, and download them again? Except this time, open the new ACSM files with Adobe Digital Editions before you try anything else.
