"Something went wrong when syncing progress"

Earlier today I tried updating KOReader and saw the "Update Information not Available on Update Channel" message. I wondered if it was a WiFi connection issue so exited back into Nickel, started WiFi there and logged back into KOReader, since that worked for me the last time I had this issue.

Just now, I went to sync my progress and got the message: "Something went wrong when syncing progress. Please check your network connection and try again later." Once again, I xited back into Nickel, and started WiFi there. This time, I did a sync to check my connectivity. Nickel updated just fine, no error messages or warnings about connection problems. So I logged back into KOReader and tried again. Once again, I got the "Something went wrong when syncing progress. Please check your network connection and try again later." mnessage. Since I know there's nothing wrong with my network connection, what is going wrong here?
