I think this kind of thing is analogous to people who want to smell their books. Some people are sniffers, some people aren't. I'm not a sniffer, so I don't mind not having a "book" smell, and I don't mind
not having to situate my hardback in such a way so I can a) read it comfortably, b) get some light on it (via booklight or lamplight or whatever. Sometimes I've even used my iPod Touch!), and c) not have it go flopping all over the place when I want to read in bed. Ebook readers are
much better for me in regards to that fiasco.
