Latest paperwhite setup
i have just got a new Paperwhite to supplement my aging unit, and I have no interest in registering it with amazon, nor downloading books with it. I just want to plug it into my PC where I have a large Calibre library already, almost entirely L+70 public domain (many of which i created myself...) and sideload as needed.

However, I seem to be unable to do a thing unless I register first, have passwords just to read it (why??). I can't even find a detailed manual which might tell me, except by registering, as it's online at Amazon only.

Is there a way?
