For what it may be worth, the Britannica's Encyclopedia Infographica is a fixed layout ebook. calibre is not a very useful tool when it comes to fixed layout ebooks. If you really want the book in epub format, it is available on Kobo and other ebook retailers. Canadian price is the same on Amazon.ca or Kobo.com/ca and if you are a Kobo Plus member, it's included.

Of out curiosity, when you installed the platform-tools, what directory did you install them in?
