I look upon the first gen device as more of a technology demonstration than a practical device. Would YOU really want to read on a 5" screen with a 320x240 resolution? That's going to result in awfully "blocky" text - like reading an old fasioned dot-matrix printer printout (for those sufficiently elderly to remember such things!
