Hughes is currently #4 in NHL scoring, leads in plus/minus, overall having a great start to the season. The talking heads out of Toronto were discussing the current possibilities for the James Norris award for the NHL's top defenceman. The 4 candidates they suggested were all from eastern division teams and Quinn Hughes did not even get a mention. Oddly, the 4 players mentioned are currently in the bottom half of the top 10 in scoring and plus/minus for defencemen.
Even more humorous was the reference to the current Vancouver Canucks team as a "over-performing mediocre team in a mediocre division" Considering the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks are #2 and #3 in the NHL's overall standings (#1 and #2 in the Pacific division), that was a bit of a stretch. Hmmm... 4 of the 8 Pacific division teams are in the NHL's top 10—that must be the definition of a mediocre division.
Probably more than anyone here wants to know about the topic.

Yup.

Please no sports rants, this thread could get out of hand.
Maybe someone could start a Sports Vent and Rant thread.
