What he is telling you is that relatively new firmware from amazon allow the user to customize sleep screens. This plays havoc with jailbreak provided sleep screen customizations, or plays havoc with the amazon sleep screen firmware, depending on your point of view.

Ever since amazon started providing sleep screen customization, the advice has been to not install jailbreak provided sleep screen customization.
