I keep wondering why only a day?
We have a book week (one for children's books and one for adult books). There is even a gift given in that week if you buy a book: the "book week gift". It's a specially written book, by a selected author. Awards are given to the best books and there is a book ball...
(it is actually 10 days long and was started in 1932, the children's book week started in 1955)
