What is the best way to sync exported highlights from KOReader to Windows?

I have a Joplin subscription but given that it requires port forwarding and an active session it kinda defeats the purpose (simply transferring via USB is simpler)

Is there a more practical way to sync highlights instead of manually connecting the Kobo to the PC? What I want is simple: to be able to make highlights when reading on the e-reader and to be able to look at those later on PC without having to think about it.

I don't have Dropbox (just Icedrive) but I did buy a mini PC recently that I might use as a local server if that helps

I also use Calibre to store all my books but I only have noob-tier knowledge of it

Most of the highlights I make are either from books or from articles downloaded with the Wallabag plugin.
