I've just broken my Cybook
I'm away from home in Melbourne right now, and have just broken my Cybook. I had it in the side pocket of my jacket, and sat down badly in a chair, and inadvertently put tension pressure on it between my hip and the side of the chair.
As soon as I turned it on I saw that the upper part of the screen was mostly covered by horizontal lines, and the rest of the upper part of the screen showed inverted text. The lower 60% of the screen was not affected, but of course one can't read a book like that. The lines and inverted text still show even when it's turned off.
So I've ordered a new one from Dymock's online for $599 AuD, but may not get it for six weeks. I don't know how I'll cope.
This kind of thing must have happened to others, so I'd like some advice on how I get my current library (all on the flash card and all backed up) to read on my new Cybook when it arrives. There shouldn't be any problem with non DRM books, but I think I'll either have to remove the DRM from those books which have it, or download them again if the vendor will let me change the PID.
Any other suggestions?
Regards, Alex
