Irish Hurling and Camogie (Lady's Hurling) are Ice-hockey style & speed games played on grass. Nowadays they wear helmets with face-guards. The ball (a slitter) seems a little like a cricket ball.
My wife played hockey at school and the team was always nervous playing teams from schools that also played camogie. No-one wore helmets then.
