One fanfic I'm reading, every chapter the author keeps whinging in the author's notes about how difficult this is to write and how she doesn't like writing it and it's like... nobody's forcing you (or even paying you, fanfics are free) to do this. Just stop if you're not enjoying it anymore.
Honestly it's making me consider DNFing the fic.
