Howdy:

Well, I liked this. Now...granted, I have a somewhat vested interest in it, as I live in AZ and the Nation is not far from us, relatively speaking. And of course, anybody that came up reading Tony Hillerman could hardly stay away from it, I should think. But I thought that overall, except for a few soapy bits, they did a good job. Three episodes and worth viewing.

We've been trying to rewatch Jonathan Creek and ...I just can't. I loved Alan Davies; loved the show's conceit and concept, (mostly) but every single time that woman opens her mouth, I wanted to hit her. I mean, seriously, punch her in the face (Caroline Quentin, the co-star).

That character (I'm assuming that it's the character and she's not that person) is simply repugnant and repulsive. There isn't a single redeeming quality about her. Between shovelling food in her face non-stop, lying, scheming and on and on and on...I don't know how the producers of the show expected anyone to keep watching. WHY? I realize, I do, that UK and US humor are very different but...I found nothing remotely funny about her. The only way we've made it through any episodes is by the plentiful and liberal use of the fast-forward button. Of course, with her screen time, means we lose about 40% of the plot elements.

I'm thinking, hey, it's been a quarter-century. Maybe this is a show that they could revive (WITHOUT HER) and who knows? If something as silly as Hawaii 5-0 or Magnum or whatever can make it, why not this? (I think that they did some sort of homage-y thing, in the mid 2015's or thereabouts but I could be wrong.) If they do, I just hope they don't bring back her, or some obnoxious daughter character, etc. (Yes, yes, I'm looking at YOU, Justified, City Primeval, utterly also ruined!!!)
