I hear all that. But I actually read Neil Gaiman before he was NEIL GAIMAN. I bought the first few issues of Sandman when they were released. I quit after five or so issues. Likely after the one with the Justice League. Made a tidy profit selling them later. I do love the first issue though.

There's a reason when Sandman trade paperbacks were first released, they started with A Doll's House, not Preludes and Nocturnes.

It's worth letting people know. It would be easy enough to read the first book and wonder what the hubbub is about.
