You can buy a cheap OTG adaptor plug (USB-C) with a USB-A socket (about £6 / $6 / €6). Then try a cheap USB-Memory stick or even a USB mouse!

If it has a file browser external USB Mass Storage mode will work. USB MTP likely won't work (other phones, Kindle Scribe, maybe other Kindles later, Android eink).
