Resurrecting a bricked kobo nia!

Hi there kobo enthusiasts

Here is what had happened;

This all began when I was trying to upgrade my Kobo's storage from 8 GB -> 32 GB by swapping the SD card as a friend of mine had done.

I powered off the Kobo and pried off the back, then removed the SD card and copied the partitions onto a 32 GB card, and removed all the unallocated space. Issues started to occur once I had reinstalled everything on the 32 GB card. It would not boot, so I extended the unallocated space from the factory card and reinstalled it. This created the same result and bricked the Kobo, the reason for the bricking was the fact that the software I was using had done some other alterations I wasn't able to see and ruined the kobo os.

A few months down the line I was able to get a Kobo Nia SD card image from someone on this forum and flashed it onto both cards they both now booted! victory? sadly not.

Now whenever both cards boot they boot into the setup screen and the languages flash for 1 second and then the device goes into its "out of battery" state requesting to be charged. I had left it charging with different cables, wall adaptors, and even power banks to try to get it started but to no avail.

As a last-ditch effort I put an update file to see what would happen and it did make a difference, only to tell me my battery was too low to update lol.

Anyway, I've hit a wall and I don't know what to do, the kobo boots every time but I can't use it. I also cannot discount it to a battery failure because I had used the device for 3/4 months flawlessly so I'm really stumped at this.

Any ideas?
