I tried David Mitchell's Thinking About It Only Makes It Worse, a collection of his newspaper articles with some reflection from a few years afterwards. Good stuff, but only readable in small doses.

Moved on to Late Eclipses, the next one in Seanan McGuire's October Daye series.
