Some don't have PCs, or don't know how to copy files. But I leave ereader connected to charge and catch up on other stuff.
There is only one inductive ("wireless") Kindle that doesn't need a cable? But a cable allows you to charge and read at the same time. The charging pad still needs a cable and wall PSU.
