That's the house. On the front there's only a small window and the houses in that neighbourhood are build kind of diagonally (like: /////) against each other, so the windows at the front and the back aren't opposite each other. So even when you lighten up the interior design, which was dark, it wouldn't lighten the place up much. Upstairs was a bit lighter, but because of the weird lay out it just didn't work for either of us. The attic was nice, the current owners had build a wall to make a separate room and a landing. But that wall could easily be removed to make a big room.

My sister indeed decided against the great house. She's very sensitive to the type of noise a busy road makes. So we'll keep on searching. The good news is that early next year she's getting a raise and her work is willing to write a letter for the bank/mortgage person so we might be able to have a slightly bigger budget.

Now she's seen how much more house you get if you get a bit further away from Utrecht she's willing to search a bit further from work. So we're going to add some towns to our search list.
