I too would prefer this
I've just read a short story and, by the end of it I realised I had already read it (hmm.. this sounded interesting).
Then I added two records, one for the first reading at a random year as I have no idea when I'd read it first, and a second record for today's reading, only to find RG is listing this with a 1x counter.
