Speed of automatic backup of database changes into metadata.opf files

Calibre has a very nice feature of saving ebook metadata it has in database into individual metadata.opf files. In order not to overwhelm the disk or system or whatever, those writes are throttled back to about 26 files per minute. You can view the progress info in "Calibre Library" menu, under "maintenance" and "Library metadata backup status". You can even tell Calibre to refresh all metadata.opf files from this dialog by choosing "Queue all books for backup".

Is there any way I can tell Calibre to speed up this process? Is there any setting, tweak, plugin, hack or trick to tell Calibre "Hey, I am going to sleep now and you have the computer (with nice new SSD) all to yourself, go full tilt"?
