If you do want to stick with ePub, here are a few tricks/tips to help ePub look better. I suggest you install Notepad++ to be sure of the line endings being correct when editing the config file on your Kobo,
This gets rid of widows ad orphans and makes the screen more uniform. It does look better.

Another tip is the default hyphenation dictionary is not well configured. I've created come better hyphenation dictionaries. The directions on how to install are in the first post of the thread where the dictionaries are. The URL is
