The sourcebooks for the roleplaying game shadowrun are released as pdf. Whenever a new print-release is done (or critical errors are corrected) a new pdf-release is published - and you are entitled to re-download your copy of the (corrected) pdf.
It works rather well
Something similar should be done by Harper-Collins.
