Around the time of the new movies I decided to reread the LotR trilogy. My memory at that time (having been about 15 years past) was of enjoying the first book, finding the second book overly descriptive bordering on monotony, and the third book ending the primary story in the same breath as the second book's description of a blade of grass, which then went on to add closure for various characters... However when I reread the series I was pleasantly surprised that my views changed through the years... I am actually in the minority of those that wasn't that impressed (except on technical merit) of the films...

I've actually been thinking of rereading the Hobbit at some point soon...
