Not meaning to hijack this thread but, as we're discussing ePub > Kindle, I thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Ocassionally I find Amazon just won't accept an ePub I drop into the "Send to Kindle" page and upload (and sends me an eMail about the problem upload which it discards). In such cases, the fix has simply been to convert the "problem" ePub > ePub from within Calibre using the defaults and sending that new ePub in place of the old one. When it arrives successfully (and it always seems to) I trash the original. Guess some ePubs aren't "standard enough".
