A Palm III was my first reader, back when it was near impossible to find (legitimate) ebooks. Usenet was full of bad OCR jobs.

Then I upgraded to an HP pocket PC, which was at least a larger more readable screen.

I replaced that with a Sony PRS-500, and later the 700. My only complaint about those was that the page turns were crazy slow.
