Dogs of War and Bear Head is a two book series featuring genetically and mechanically engineered animals used in war. The Final Architecture trilogy (Shards of Earth, Eyes of the Void, Lords of Uncreation) is far-future giant spaceships/sentient moons etc space opera (think Neal Asher). The Children of Time trilogy is also far-future but more focussed on biological evolution. Those are the ones I've read and they're all great. Personally I'd start with Dogs of War and Children of Time.
