I am using the latest firmware version Firmware 4.38.21908 for the Libra H2O FNAC. With the previous version it didn't work either so I had to do this sideloaded upgrade.
Any idea what could be wrong?

I opened a query in the kobo chat and they solved it for me. My account must have had a problem and they solved it.
