At worst it's an $18 risk, the price of two full priced books. If you enjoy the genre, take a look at reviews, especially of reviewers that you tend to agree with.

For what it is worth, I rank the October Daye series right up there with the Mercy Thompson and Dresden series in the urban fantasy genre. If you enjoy those two series, then maybe our tastes match enough for you to enjoy this one as well.
