There is zero harm on any visible light source similar in brightness to light reflected off brightness enhanced copier paper.
Don't stare at light bulbs, high power LEDs for torches*, lasers or the sun, but no OLED or LCD tablet is on sale that can damage your eyes.
Also some are not any brighter than the front light of an eink at full (which is pretty much the same LEDs as on an LCD backlight).
(* They have "don't point this at your eyes" or similar warnings)
