No. Some series have lasted for decades (the Foreigner series by C.J. Cherryh, for example, which I've been reading on and off for a while now). I don't have the patience to wait for years. Still, my TBR pile is so large that many series have indeed been finished when I've gotten to them.
PBM doesn't pay any attention to fashion.
