I prefer reading with the light set to zero when there is enough ambient light. In these situations there is little difference between having the light at zero and where I would set the light at. I like not having the light in my eyes and hope it helps preserve the battery.

I’m only able to do this with the Voyage. The background on all my other front lit Kindles is darker, more grayish and muddier. I always need to use the front light with those.
