Google hardly works now with anything unless it also uses Oauth or something. Deliberate so you have to use Andriod client (a terminal to Google server) or Google Web mail. All my gmail accounts are setup to forward to other accounts and I can't use google's SMTP. I use the one of my hosting, or the ISP I'm connected to if they block all 3rd party SMTP. Both work for any email "from" or "to" address/domain as I'm logging into that SMTP.
