Side loaded mode?. Been just plugging in Both my Kobos, and tap connect.
Other that the bad FW a while back that would corrupt the DB. It just works.
(I have Kobo Utilities and Extended edition. I mostly us the extended edition)
When I 'eject', I do wait for the Kobo to settle out all the way.
